Hi, I'm Apo!¶
Welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm a mechanical engineer, computational researcher, and an eternal learner. I'm currently pursuing my PhD at Penn State University.
I’m passionate about understanding how the world works. My deepest love lies with math and physics, but I’m also drawn to philosophy, history, linguistics & ethics, anything that pushes thinking forward.
When I’m not working on numerical simulations or writing code, I’m usually doing one of a few things:
- Playing guitar and singing (sometimes off-key, always with feeling)
- Solving regular and logic puzzles
- Traveling and photographing vast landscapes
- Getting unreasonably excited about elegant questions
I believe that building things, from software and mechanical systems to clear explanations and lasting relationships, is one of the most meaningful things a person can do. That belief shapes how I live, work, and teach.
A Little More About Me¶
I was born and grew up in Giresun, Türkiye, and made my way through lots of trial and error (and a bit of grit) to where I am now. I graduated from Boğaziçi University in 2022, and I'm now focused on turbulence modeling and direct numerical simulation as part of my PhD research.
If you’re into engineering, education, or existential conversations over tea, we’ll probably get along just fine.
Thanks for visiting.

Lots of fluid dynamics huh?

Just fascinating...
